We Are Book Builders At Home And At School
In our first grade room, we are constantly making books. We are BOOK BUILDERS, always thinking about what kinds of books we can make, (pattern books, list books, informational texts, sticker books, little books, big books, poetry books). At this point in the year, the authors in Room 29 are off and running!
Think about supporting your child at home by encouraging your child to make a book with YOU! Provide your child with...
-stickers
-index cards
-fancy paper
-small books (copy paper stapled together )
-bare books from the website www.barebooks.com
-journals/diaries
-photo books
Any time a book is written inside or outside of our classroom by one of our students...we celebrate it by sharing it with all and talking with the author about his/her inspiration.
